In 2002 Luk van der Hallen won the art competition organised by the city of Maasmechelen.

The work was erected on a very busy roundabout. The permanent enormous stream of traffic was criticized by the installation.

The Rain is literally seperated from the Cloud and the mobile is moving the two around without the Rain ever to be able to catch up with the Cloud. So subject and purpose are being seperated in an absurd and endless carousel, compared with the pointless daily journeys of the thousands of people in their cars. Where are we driving/going to?

The wind broke the 4 stainless steel wires and after 2 months the construction of the cloud itself was adapted. Nature is a tough client..
